About the Project:
ESS the European Spallation Source is a multi-disciplinary research facility based on the worlds most powerful neutron source and is owned by 13 Europeans nations. All nations will contribute technical equipment, expertise, and funding for the initial project and on going future.
The project will be used for medical research the site and covers 4 kilometres.
KES was employed to carry out the filtration cleaning of the low, medium and high beta plantrooms which were fed from a main energy centre. The pipework ranged in size from 15mm up to 600mm and was made from 316 stainless steel, if stretched end to end equals to around 12 kilometres in length.
